Tornado Cash

Tornado Cash is an Ethereum mixing protocol. It was sanctioned by OFAC on August 8, 2022 for facilitating money laundering including funds stolen by North Korea's Lazarus Group, and was removed from the SDN list on March 21, 2025 following Van Loon v. Treasury. It remains a high-risk privacy protocol in tracing analysis.
